After some time on the FDK and getting it to a level where it was consistently doing what it was meant to I got an itch to delve back into the more classic traditional style fish. So I straightened the back foot section of the outline, widened the swallow tail, changed the keels to a double foil and a different rocker curve to accomodate this. Now it generates speed easily and carries momentum through flat sections, is quite drivey with the straighter outline between the feet but handles the juicier faces because of the new bottom curve. After rewatching my part in the documentary ’FISH’ I realised with these changes I’d gone back to that buoyant style board I was riding with added flow, making ankle to head high waves really really fun again.
